Sewing Level 1: Get to Know Your Sewing Machine

This hands-on workshop is designed to help you master your sewing machine. You will learn the essentials of machine operation and gain the confidence needed to start your sewing journey. It is the perfect starting point for anyone feeling intimidated by their equipment.

During the session, you will learn to set up and thread your machine, wind a bobbin, and change the needle. We will cover how to manage seam allowances, execute backstitching, and adjust machine settings. You will also learn basic troubleshooting techniques to keep your projects running smoothly. Please bring your sewing machine, manual, power cord, foot pedal, thread, and two empty compatible bobbins.

This class is ideal for beginners who own a machine but lack practical experience. It provides a supportive environment to transition into more advanced projects like quilting or garment sewing. Please ensure your machine is in working order before attending. If you do not own a machine, please register for our designated absolute beginners session instead.
