Tree Lighting Celebration Cary 2026
The Tree Lighting Celebration is a public holiday event taking place at Downtown Cary Park on December 5. This annual community gathering marks the official start of the holiday season with a variety of festivities leading up to the main ceremony at 6 p.m.
Attendees can participate in a full day of holiday programming and live performances. The schedule includes seasonal activities designed for all ages throughout the park. The experience concludes with the official lighting of the tree, which serves as the primary highlight of the evening. Local groups and artists will provide entertainment during the daytime hours before the ceremonial lighting takes place.
This event is open to the public and welcomes families, local residents, and visitors. The atmosphere is centered on community spirit and seasonal tradition. Guests should plan for travel adjustments, as Academy Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Park Street and Dry Avenue from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. We invite you to join us in Downtown Cary Park to celebrate the holidays with your neighbors and experience this festive community showcase.
