Sewing Level 1: Machine Sewing for Absolute Beginners

This two hour workshop introduces absolute beginners to the fundamentals of machine sewing in a supportive environment. The session provides hands on instruction for those who have never used a machine or do not own their own equipment yet. Our objective is to demystify the process and prepare you for more advanced projects like quilting or garment construction.

During this class you will learn to set up and thread a sewing machine correctly. We will cover essential tasks including winding a bobbin, changing needles, adjusting machine settings, and basic troubleshooting. You will also practice practical techniques such as sewing with a precise seam allowance and executing a secure backstitch.

This class is designed for anyone feeling intimidated by sewing machines who wants a guided start to their creative journey. The atmosphere is professional and encouraging to help you build necessary technical confidence. After completing this session, you will be prepared to transition into our intermediate level courses. If you prefer to learn on your own equipment, please register for our alternative workshop specifically tailored to getting to know your personal machine.
