First Friday Under the Stars Skywatching Event

Experience the wonder of the cosmos during the First Friday Under the Stars event hosted by the Raleigh Astronomy Club. This unique opportunity invites enthusiasts to explore the night sky from the secluded beauty of a Triangle Land Conservancy nature preserve. With professional telescopes set up and experts on hand to guide your discovery, you will gain a deeper understanding of the celestial bodies visible from our corner of the globe. Because each session reflects the unique positioning of the earth during that specific month, no two stargazing experiences are ever the same.

This event is entirely free to the public, though advance registration is strictly required due to the private nature of the preserve. Please remember to bring a comfortable chair or picnic blanket, bug spray, a red flashlight, and your own snacks to ensure a pleasant evening in the field. As this is a protected site, please leave all pets at home. We invite you to join our community of stargazers for a professional and memorable evening. Secure your spot today by visiting our registration page and prepare for an unforgettable night under the stars.
