14th Annual Day of the Dead 5k and Street Festival

The 14th Annual Day of the Dead 5k and Street Festival takes place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in downtown Raleigh. This event combines a community 5k race with a cultural street festival to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake and Johnston Counties. Participants begin at Centro Mexican Restaurant for a scenic route through the historic Oakwood neighborhood and cemetery. Following the race, runners aged 21 and older receive a complimentary beer from Trophy Brewing to celebrate their finish.

The free street festival on Wilmington Street features local vendors, food trucks, and traditional performances. Attendees can explore cultural altars, enjoy live music, and participate in family activities like the costume dance contest. This gathering honors the spirit of Dia de los Muertos through local food, art, and community engagement.

This event welcomes individuals, families, and fitness enthusiasts of all levels. It provides a unique opportunity to engage with local traditions while supporting a meaningful cause. Join us in downtown Raleigh to experience this fall tradition. Register for the race or simply attend the festivities to enjoy a vibrant day of culture and community.
