Christmas Candle Tea at Raleigh Moravian Church 2026

The Christmas Candle Tea at Raleigh Moravian Church is a historic annual tradition held on the first Saturday of December to celebrate the Advent season. This community event invites neighbors to experience authentic 18th century Moravian customs and holiday preparations in a welcoming atmosphere. Attendees will find an elaborate nativity putz on display while listening to live music from the church band. Visitors can enjoy traditional Moravian sugarcake and coffee served by hosts in period attire. Crafts such as handmade beeswax candle making and star assembly are demonstrated throughout the afternoon. Shoppers may purchase authentic Moravian cookies and various holiday items to support local traditions. This event serves as an open invitation to the entire community to share in seasonal fellowship. Guests are encouraged to participate in the Giving Tree program by bringing non perishable food or monetary donations for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Whether you are interested in history, unique holiday treats, or supporting a meaningful local charity, this festive gathering offers an engaging experience for all ages to enjoy together.
