Science Detectives: Coastal Critters is a specialized educational workshop designed to introduce students to marine biology through immersive, hands-on scientific inquiry. This sixty-minute session focuses on the diverse ecosystem of the North Carolina coast and the methods museum scientists use to preserve natural history specimens. Participants will explore how collections help us understand our world.

Students will take an imaginary trip to the coast to study marine life through interactive experiments, educational games, and live animal encounters. The curriculum is crafted to encourage curiosity and provide a deeper understanding of coastal biology and research techniques. Every activity is designed to make complex scientific concepts accessible, engaging, and highly memorable for participants.

These classes are tailored specifically for homeschool and track-out students who are looking for an enriched learning experience. The atmosphere is professional, encouraging, and collaborative, providing a space for young learners to engage with science in a meaningful way. Space is limited, so we encourage families to register soon to ensure their student can participate in this coastal discovery adventure.
