Biodegradable Yard Waste Bag Giveaway at Lake Johnson Park

The City of Raleigh Solid Waste Services team is hosting a community giveaway event to provide residents with free biodegradable paper yard waste bags. This initiative supports the city's commitment to sustainable waste management and provides a convenient opportunity for residents to collect essential supplies for their fall yard cleanup projects.

Attendees will receive five free biodegradable bags during the event. Staff members from Solid Waste Services will be present to explain the new Enhanced Weekly Yard Waste Pickup service and answer specific questions about participation. Additionally, Stormwater staff will join the event to discuss the new trash trap installed at Lake Johnson Park. This is a great chance to learn how local debris management impacts regional water quality and to see the new technology in action.

This event is open to all Raleigh residents interested in sustainable yard maintenance and local environmental initiatives. The atmosphere will be informative and community focused. We encourage you to stop by to collect your bags, gather helpful resources, and engage with the city teams dedicated to keeping our environment clean.
