Creek Critter Discovery with Haw River Assembly

Creek Critter Discovery is a hands-on educational program led by the Haw River Assembly to explore the health of local streams. Participants will investigate aquatic macroinvertebrates to understand how these tiny organisms serve as critical indicators of water quality and overall ecosystem vitality.

During the session, you will learn to identify common creek wildlife and perform interactive tests to gauge water health. Experts from the Haw River Assembly will guide you through the process of collecting samples and interpreting data. This experience offers a practical look at how scientists monitor environmental conditions and provides insight into current local water conservation efforts.

This event is designed for nature enthusiasts, students, and community members interested in environmental science and local ecology. The atmosphere is collaborative and informative, making it a perfect opportunity for families or individuals to connect with the local environment. Space is limited, so we encourage you to join us to gain a deeper appreciation for our waterways and discover how you can support local conservation initiatives.
