Walk Through the Seasons
Walk Through the Seasons is a monthly guided nature hike at Prairie Ridge designed to help you observe and understand the natural world. Each session explores the changing landscape of woods and prairies through the perspective of an experienced naturalist. The primary goal is to teach participants how to read the terrain and identify local flora and fauna throughout the year.
During these hikes you will actively use iNaturalist to document your findings. You will learn to capture photographs of mystery plants and animals to contribute to real collaborative science projects. This hands-on experience turns your smartphone into a functional tool for research and environmental data collection while deepening your connection to the local ecosystem.
This event is open to nature enthusiasts of all skill levels who enjoy outdoor exploration and citizen science. Whether you are a curious beginner or a seasoned hiker you will find value in the educational guidance provided. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes.
