This educational session explores the diverse bird species that migrate to Wake County to spend the winter months. The program focuses on the seasonal arrival of these avian visitors and their specific behaviors while in the region. Our goal is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of local migratory patterns and the seasonal ecosystem shifts that occur during colder months. Attendees will learn practical techniques for identifying various wintering birds and discovering local hotspots where these species congregate. We will also discuss specific strategies for creating bird friendly environments in residential areas to support these populations throughout their stay in the Tar Heel State. This presentation is designed for bird enthusiasts of all experience levels who want to improve their observation skills and conservation efforts. Whether you are a beginner interested in backyard birding or a seasoned naturalist, this event offers valuable insights into local wildlife. The atmosphere is informal and informative, encouraging attendees to ask questions and share observations. Join us to deepen your connection with nature and learn how to be a responsible host to our seasonal feathered residents.
