Art of Science is a program for adults that blends scientific inquiry with creative artistic expression. Participants learn about citizen science projects while completing a hands-on art project that they can take home.

This session focuses on documenting phenology, which is the study of cyclical and seasonal natural phenomena. You will learn how to collect and submit scientific data to contribute to ongoing research efforts. We will also guide you through the process of creating traditional Finnish winter ornaments known as himmeli. We provide all necessary instructions, tools, and materials to construct multiple ornaments during the session. No previous scientific or artistic experience is required to participate fully.

This event is ideal for anyone interested in nature, data collection, and craft making. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with scientific research while learning a historic art form. The atmosphere is collaborative and beginner friendly. Your registration fee covers all supplies and equipment. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of discovery and creativity. Please register in advance to secure your spot as space is limited.
