Went here for a hike on South Main and Slalom course loop of about 4 miles. Part of the hiking course goes under the zip lines and Tree top adventures, which is pretty nice. These activities are busy with young children and families. The parking is $12 which seems a bit steep just for hiking. Specially given there are several other similar hiking courses around Charlotte, that have free parking. There is an option to buy an annual parking for $40. However, it is worth experiencing one time even for hiking.
What an awesome place! We came for a few hours and wished we'd planned on taking the whole day. We managed to pack in Rafting, climbing, hitting up the dog park and a really tasty late lunch. And there was so much more to do. BUT this is also a great place to come and just relax. You only have to pay to park if you just want to come and relax in the beautiful park-like setting. And then if you are feeling like having some adventure time, you can a'la cart activities or buy a day pass OR get a yearly pass which is a steal. And it should be said that we were really impressed with the staff. Everyone was not only very nice, but also professional. We wish we had not waited so long to come out and enjoy this wonderful place.
A day well spent at the U.S. National Whitewater Center was the most fun we’ve had the entire trip! The whitewater rafting, the ropes course, the 100-ft jump, etc. all were a super fun experience! There were also good lunch options at the center! Everything seemed well organized. Hope to return someday and do it all over again!!
What an amazing place.
I've been to 70+ countries and this attraction is truly world class.
Will be back!
I feel sole white water rafting lessons are in my immediate future.
Great space to enjoy outdoor activities! There is a climbing wall, white water rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, zip lines, mountain bike trails, and the list goes on. It's definitely an enjoyable spot. Go with the season pass for parking and activities if you plan to frequently visit.
