Turnipseed Nature Preserve - Hunt Valley Trail Entrance

One thing I absolutely love about this park, there's a link you go to from the code on certain areas that tells you about the environment near you. First one in gin branch talked about the water oaks! It's a walking tour. Helps you learn about the area well enjoying nature. How cool is that?

The trail pretty level until one section past the little lookout view. If not up for a little bit a hike. Can't wait to come back in the spring. But as in winter still very pretty.

Has quite of few trails straying off each trail leading to different adventures.

If anything the little lookout areas are worth the whole trip. So quite, peaceful. Great area to sit for lunch.

In the front of each start of the parks, there's a helpful map and free postcards!

Found this trail when I searched for 'quieter' trails to go on, and it did not disappoint. We did all the trails except the hidden boulder one because we were with some folks who were limited in the amount of time they could walk. We will return to check it out, though, because we loved the trails we were on. The paths we were on were well kept, and the info on the trees/leaves were a nice touch. There were more cars than I thought there would be, but we didn't run into a lot of people. The bridges were nice, and seeing all the boulders (from someone who lives in sandy flatland) was really interesting as well. There were several picnic tables here and there as well as a port-a-potty in the parking area.

Watch out for the Carpenter Ants on the back side of the Meadow Trail… they are aggressive. 🐜🐜🐜

This is a very peaceful park. I enjoy nature and looking for wildlife and birds. The boulders are fun to climb and I enjoy sitting on them while I’m enjoying the view of the pond. I usually have a picnic at the end of my walk. I love viewing the changes in the landscape through the seasons.

The road from the entrance is probably over a mile to parking lot.

Nice mostly shaded in and out trail.

Well maintained and easy to follow. Some small elevation changes and a nice bridge.

No bathrooms. Just a porta potty.
