Triangle Town Center

Overall, not a bad mall, but it is trying its best to stay afloat IMO. There a many empty stores and also signs of it aging. Still…there are plenty of other stores and the food court offers a variety of cuisine.

I really do, genuinely enjoy going to this mall. It’s always a great experience, the architecture is timeless. I’ve been coming to this place since it opened in 2002 (since I was a baby). Mainly with my parents who lived nearby when the mall first opened. It’s just as fresh as the day it opened in my eyes (call it a deep seated nostalgia lol).

The store selection is pretty good, not great but good. I think management should try to find a good tenant to occupy the vacant Sears anchor structure as that’s been dark since 2021 or so. I think it would really help to further up the occupancy rate at Triangle Town Center! That, and more events to bring people to the mall!

Another area that needs some serious attention is The Commons, the outdoor shopping space just outside the Upper Level entrance with that fantastic glass-covered atrium. I don’t remember when that place was hoppin’ but, as of December, 2024. It’s a sad site. Lots of vacant storefronts, looking more and more abandoned with every new visit. Outdoor shopping seems to be in these days, I think with some new tenants, The Commons could flourish, especially with all of the surrounding shopping centers around.

The Creekside Café is cool, though they filled the exterior water feature in front of the Lower Level entrance. Kinda destroys the “Creekside” vibe lol. But that cafe always seems to be busy, just about every time that I go. Bummer that McDonald’s left, maybe something just as business intensive could move in?

Also, who doesn’t love a cup of Auntie Anne’s pretzel bites from the Upper Level store while you walk around inside Dillard’s, Macy’s, Belk’s, or Barnes & Noble?

Have been coming to this mall since it opened in the early 2000s. It once was the best hangout spot in North Raleigh, but it is obviously mismanaged now as it’s dirty, run-down and in need of an extreme makeover. The outdoor area in front of the Barnes and Noble is especially rundown and looks like something from a 3rd world country or apocalyptic wasteland. Honestly, I’m surprised the City of Raleigh hasn’t charged the owners with fines for breaking ordinances (I know my HOA would charge me in a heartbeat if my house looked this bad). Please invest in this once great landmark and the people will come back.

Nice place to walk, do shopping, eat with family, and simply enjoy the ambience. Very wide parking space. Some shops closed down but many shops and stores are wide open. This mall is very clean.

This probably sounds weird to say but this mall really brings back the memories, speaking as someone born in the 80s who grew up mostly in the 90s. Classic shopping mall with department stores, food court, etc. A few places closed but for the most part still very lively.
