Beautiful garden, always enjoy visiting any time of year. Love that it's free as well! You just need to pay for parking. Looking forward to seeing the new updates they're working on.

Right now there's only a dedicated parking lot open on the weekend due to construction so keep that in mind for your visit!

This was my second time visiting this gorgeous place. If you are into nature and find yourself in North Carolina, Durham area you should definitely check this place out. I promise you won't be disappointed. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes because you will be doing some walking. Perfect if you want to get your daily steps in.

I went on Saturday early morning around 7 to avoid the crowds and due to construction, it’s easy to go early because the parking is not so full. Saw 2/3 cars already there before me. It was my second time here, 1st time during fall and it was pretty astounding and this time I came to check the cherry aisle. It’s beautiful and lovely area filled with various type of flowers around. I love spending my time walking to each corner they have and they did pretty good job to make sure the park look nice and clean. They maintain it well. The parking fee is $2/hour and there is no ticket for the park. Love it 😍

Duke Gardens is a true gem. It’s peaceful, beautifully landscaped, and perfect for a walk, a picnic, or simply unwinding. The various sections—from the koi ponds to the flower gardens—are all stunning and meticulously maintained. There are plenty of hidden nooks and scenic spots to explore. Best of all, admission is free, and there’s always something in bloom no matter the season. It’s the perfect place to escape and enjoy a bit of nature.

Pro tip: Due to ongoing construction, parking can be a bit tricky during the week. I found a spot at the Bryan Center for a small fee and walked over—super convenient. Try to arrive early in the morning to beat the crowds and enjoy the gardens at their most serene.

We enjoyed our wedding anniversary walk at Duke Gardens during Cherry Blossom season. Although some construction prevented us from walking through the main walkway, the view from a distance was still stunning. The weather was perfect, and while the gardens were quite crowded—almost like visiting an amusement park—everyone was courteous, and we had plenty of opportunities to capture the beautiful scenery. We’re grateful to have such a wonderful space close to home and look forward to visiting again soon!

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

301 Pogue St, Raleigh, NC 27607
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is an interactive children’s theatre piece for very young audiences, performed by two Star Keepers named Glimmer and Sparkle. It’s time for the night sky to fill with stars, but one important star — Little Star, the wishing star — is missing because Sparkle rushed through putting the stars away the previous morning and muddled everything up. What follows is a search-and-rescue adventure as the two star keepers (and the audience) hunt for Little Star, discovering along the way that all the other stars have been put in the wrong places too and need to be moved to their proper place. Audience members help the Star Keepers find and re-organize the sky just in time for nightfall so that everyone can make a wish on their favorite star. Twinkle, Twinkle explores the ideas that mistakes happen, feelings are valid, and no one has to face hard things alone – all wrapped up in a genuinely joyful romp about stars. By Ernie Nolan Produced by special arrangement with Plays for New Audiences Dialogue complexity: conversations are short but use more vocabulary than some other shows; performers also use physical actions, props, music, and songs to tell the story. What is Theatre for the Very Young? Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) is theatre designed for ages zero through five to support their cognitive development. The purpose of TVY is to support our youngest audience members in engaging with creative play, introducing them to narrative storytelling, and exploring social and emotional learning in a fun and approachable way. TVY is designed to be sensory friendly and an open space for movement, vocalization, and exploration! Pre-show activities! Audiences are invited to arrive 30 minutes prior to each showtime (when the “house” opens) to participate in a free pre-show activity, coordinated by RLT’s education department.
