Great serene place for a paddle. Looked for an elusive rattle-headed-copper-moccasin but didn’t find one. The trail is well marked and mostly shaded. Handle your business before leaving. There isn’t a dry spot to step on for a while. Its 1.3 miles start to finish. We went very slowly and it took us 1.75 hours. Can’t wait to do it again.

Beautiful and quiet with a nice breeze coming off of the water. I just went to eat my lunch but the park looked very well equipped for those wanting to kayak, canoe, etc.

Beautiful area with a small walking trail (too short for a run but a nice brief walk with my small foster dog) and a lovely pond. I look forward to going back in the spring since I now know they allow kayaking and paddle boarding (although I need to investigate further the water depth).

Great spot for black water kayaking. Well marked trail buies, and a great diversity of flora and fauna. Very peaceful spot, but must have a flat-bottom kayak or SUP to navigate the entire route.

Convenient, easy place for flat water kayaking just outside of Raleigh. This is a very quiet and peaceful location. There is a well marked path/loop making it easy to navigate. You’ll find plenty of turtles and cypress trees throughout. This is a true hidden gem!
