Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre

Going to a drive-in was on my wife's bucket list for quite some time. We finally went and watched a double feature. We watched Lilo & Stich followed by The Thunderbolts.

The movies were good, but we did have to rely on car radio to get the sound. They had speakers, but it wasn’t loud enough.

They did have some concessions options. They were okay, nothing really noteworthy.

I hadn’t been to a drive-in in a lot of years. Brought back good memories and we created some new ones. Plenty of space between rows to set out chairs and be comfortable. If you have an fm radio, bring it but if not they rent a speaker for $5 and it is loud enough for 2 or 3 spaces. Food wasn’t too expensive but the line was long all night long.

The main reason you go to a drive-in is for the novelty and nostalgia. With that in mind, you get what you expect. It's a fun experience, but not something I would do every weekend (or even once a month). The screen is well-lit and easy to see, and the audio is played through the radio. We had no issues with video or sound.

The food left a lot to be desired. The burgers weren't the best and the fries were awful. They also offer popcorn, hotdogs, chicken fingers, and other hot items. We didn't try those so I can't speak for them.

We'll be back but will plan on eating dinner somewhere else first.

This place is great. It's a drive-in movie theater that is dog friendly. They have the typical theater stuff, such as popcorn, candy, and soda. If you buy a specialty popcorn bucket or cup, you get cheaper refills for the life of the bucket or cup. They also have a full kitchen so you are able to get hamburgers, French fries, chili dogs, etc. There is a play area for kids up in the front by the screen for before the movie. Sometimes there are live bands before the movie as well. If you come for the first movie, you are able to stay for the second movie for free. They have events throughout the year to watch a classic movie, such as Goonies or Superman. There is also a horror movie event in the fall where you can stay overnight. It's definitely worth the trip here.

We camped here through Harvest Host. I got to meet Mark the owner and we talked about drive-in theaters. He's very knowledgeable on the subject. The concession stand set up is very nice, varied and affordable. We enjoyed a nice dinner there just before the movies. We lucked out, for Labor Day weekend they did a triple feature! If you prepay for the movies, you will be charged a fee. Better to pay at the drive-in. We can't wait to return. We were the only RV on this night. Other drive-ins we have done had several other RVs.
