This place is fantastic! You could go every season and see wildly different plants blossoming every time and still not have seen everything. Their maps have a scavenger hunt on them which is awesome for the kids cause it makes the gardens more interactive. There are 2 different waterfalls, picnic tables, a koi pond, and a sun garden which is super cool in late spring and early summer! All of the staff is was super helpful and knowledgeable. And if it inspires your own garden they have a nursery where they sell a huge number of different types of plants. It’s kind of a hidden gem in South Raleigh cause they don’t seem like they’re open daily, but they most certainly are 9-5 weekdays, and weekends only for their seasonal events. Which is great cause you could go there mid week and spend an afternoon in the gardens basically by yourself. Highly recommend, more folk in the triangle should check this place out!
This botanical garden offers a diverse collection of plants, including rare and exotic varieties, with well-maintained grounds featuring walking trails, a beautiful waterfall. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They also offer lots of beautiful plants for sale. This garden is usually only open a couple weekends a year to the public so be sure to check their website for dates and times.
I loved visiting here! I was impressed by the level of care and attention to the garden. There are so many varieties of plants and so well labeled. It was so fun to walk the trails and enjoy the beauty. It was amazing that it was free too!
Only open at certain times for the public. Beautiful landscapes and I always learn something new about plants when visiting. This was my first time seeing the winter garden. Great focus on evergreens and it's helpful to see what things look like at different times of the year so that you can better plan your own garden. Easy parking. They do a food truck. We saw a couple of families with picnics.
We had a great time touring this place. I felt like we learned a lot and left with some ideas. Mr Bill held a little discussion on bugs and their relationship to plants and vice versa. They have great spots for photo ops, like the waterfall. A great way to spend a few hours with friends & family.
