Very nice and beautiful park. Good walking trials and great sunset off the lake. It was pretty crowded over the weekend but I guess that's normal. Moderate space between sites. I've never encountered a park this strict on their check in time. The turn you around at the gate and recommend you wait at the local Hardy's or gas stations until 3.

Huge campground with many lakefront large sites. We stayed in Poplar Point/loop G. Heads up bathrooms need to be renovated. I drove to loop C where the bathrooms were newer. Beautiful lake untouched by development.

Camp sites were very well taken care of. Plenty of sites near the water that have private access to the lake. Showers and bathrooms were clean. Wasn't really feeling the gate being pad locked till 8am. I've stayed at campsites across the U.S and you could leave at your own will but couldn't enter after a certain time. Rounding up a camp host (unless an emergency) is kind of crappy planning. I get wanting to keep people safe but if the weather is getting bad or you just want to leave early I believe you should be able to without the hassle. I mean for $40 a night camp spots the park should be able to afford road spikes installed for no entry but exit only gates...
