We took a day-trip here with our one-year-old, and it was so much fun! There’s plenty to see with an aquarium, outdoor zoo, dinosaur exhibit, butterfly habitat, and more. It’s a very family-friendly facility. We were able to navigate with a stroller just fine. My personal favorite area was the butterfly habitat. Both the butterflies and the plants were so beautiful. I’m looking forward to planning more visits here in the future! :)
The Greensboro Science Center is AMAZING! We brought our 5-month-old baby and had so much fun! We started with the penguins, because they were so close that he was able to see and track them really well. The aquarium with jellyfish and reef fish was also a crowd pleaser! I'm so impressed with the exhibits they had, including pygmy hippos, meerkats, lemurs, servals, and maned wolves. And I can't wait till our little guy is older and we can do the ropes course--it looked awesome! We loved the place so much that we bought a family membership and are excited to return. This is definitely worth a visit, for kids and adults of all ages.
We had a fantastic time at the Greensboro Science Center!
Plenty of parking made arrival stress-free, especially on a weekday. The center itself is the perfect size for a half-day visit—not overwhelming, but packed with enough to keep both kids and adults engaged.
Although we didn’t get a chance to try it, the SKYWILD aerial adventure course looked incredible—definitely something we’d consider on a future visit.
The playground was hands-down the best I’ve ever seen at any zoo or science center. Our kids could have easily spent hours there alone—it’s that good.
The aquarium is also a highlight, featuring a large tank with sharks, another with an impressive octopus, and a hands-on tank where you can feel stingrays and small sharks glide beneath your fingers.
Don't miss the pendulum clock in the center of the building—it’s a simple but mesmerizing stop during your visit.
All in all, this place is absolutely worth the price of admission. Highly recommend for families looking for an engaging, well-rounded experience.
My family and I love coming to the Greensboro Science Center. It's a zoo, an aquarium, a farm, and a beautiful hike all in one. All the enclosures and habitats are beautifully maintained; you can easily see how much the keepers care about all the animals, and how hard they work to provide proper enrichment all seasons of the year. I'm talking habitats with natural plantings. Fig trees the gibbons can pluck for snacks. Dense vegetation for the fossa. Logs and natural hides for the sand cat. It's amazing.
They have an array of different species to admire without it feeling like attention and care is being compromised. The priority here is animal welfare. Conservation. It's obvious in every direction you look! And not just for the specimens directly in their care: they also have tons of native plantings throughout the landscape for wild birds and pollinators. I was delighted to see all the plant species endemic to North Carolina.
For my part, one of my favorite exhibits is the fairly ordinary one: the farm! Yes, the maned wolves are amazing and who doesn't love a tiger, am I right? But getting to pet an alpaca? Having chickens run over your feet in hot pursuit of that juicy grasshopper? Sign me up. I could stand there all day.
Every time I visit it gets better. Right now they are building a rainforest dome and I absolutely cannot wait. I will be one of the first to visit!
The Greensboro Science Center is always buzzing with activity, and for good reason! It’s such a fun, engaging place for all ages.
Between the aquarium, zoo, and hands-on science exhibits, there’s something exciting around every corner. Even when it’s busy, it never feels overwhelming because there’s so much to explore.
They’re constantly adding new exhibits and experiences, which keeps every visit fresh and exciting. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the area!
