The Raleigh Poetry Slam

The Raleigh Poetry Slam is a monthly competitive performance event where poets showcase original work. Participants perform their pieces to earn scores from five judges randomly selected from the audience. The competitor with the highest cumulative total at the end of the evening wins a cash prize. It is a unique opportunity to witness raw talent and witness how artistic expression is celebrated in a live environment.

Performers are judged strictly on their original compositions. This event format ensures high energy and genuine engagement between the stage and the crowd. If you are a poet interested in competing, contact the organizers directly via email at [email protected] to request a performance slot.

This event is perfect for fans of spoken word and local arts. Please note that tickets must be purchased in advance as no walk-ins are admitted. Tickets become available via the email newsletter on the fifteenth of the month prior to the event. The venue is located in a historic district with accessible entry via a ramp. Street and paid parking are nearby. All ticket sales are final and nonrefundable.
