Description

This class teaches you how to repair and revitalize frayed denim jeans or shorts using visible mending techniques. You will learn to apply embroidery and sashiko hand stitching to restore your clothing while adding unique creative flair to your favorite wardrobe pieces.

Participants will use embroidery, sashiko, or Perle cotton thread to secure patches or reinforce worn fabric. You may bring your own fabric scraps for stabilization or choose from our extensive in-studio stash. We provide all basic sewing tools, so you only need to bring your denim and your preferred thread colors. No prior experience is required, though existing familiarity with embroidery or sashiko is helpful.

This workshop is open to all students aged 12 and older. It offers an excellent opportunity to learn sustainable fashion skills in a collaborative and supportive environment. Please note that a minimum of four students is required to host the session, so invite a friend to ensure the class proceeds as scheduled. Join us to develop practical sewing skills and transform your damaged denim into functional works of art.
