Description

This Science Café event explores how climate and environmental pressures have shaped the course of human evolution over millennia. Attendees will examine the biological and structural history of Homo sapiens through a modern scientific lens. Dr. Alexa Kelly will guide the discussion, focusing on the intersection of anatomy and environmental adaptation.

Dr. Kelly will present her research on human skeletal evolution, utilizing digital CT scans and global archaeological findings to demonstrate physiological changes. She will discuss how our ancestors adapted to diverse, extreme environments and what these physical traits reveal about human energetics. The session offers a unique look at how evolutionary history is encoded within the human skeletal frame.

This presentation is intended for students, researchers, and anyone with an interest in biological anthropology and human history. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and designed to foster meaningful scientific dialogue between the speaker and the public. Whether you have a professional background in science or simply a curious mind, this event offers valuable insights into our collective past. Please join us for this engaging look at the evolution of our species.
