Prairie Ridge Ecostation City Nature Challenge: Underwater Exploration
Join us for an exciting scientific adventure at the Prairie Ridge Ecostation pond as part of the annual City Nature Challenge. This unique program invites participants ages eight and older to dive into the hidden world thriving beneath the water surface. Our goal is to document as many aquatic species as possible during this citizen science initiative, contributing valuable data to a global biological record. Whether you are an aspiring biologist or a nature enthusiast, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore local biodiversity in a hands-on environment.
We will convene at the Chimney Swift tower before embarking on a brief, five-minute group trek down the Prairie Trail to our research site. Please come prepared for an outdoor excursion by bringing plenty of water and a camera to document your findings. Because we will be working directly at the pond edge, we strongly recommend wearing sturdy shoes that you do not mind getting wet or muddy. Registration is required for this event, so please visit our website to secure your spot today. We look forward to seeing you there for a day of discovery and nature exploration.
