Join us on August 30, 2026, at the Nature Research Center in Downtown Raleigh to witness the historic launch of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. This live event invites the community to experience the moment NASA launches this next generation observatory from Kennedy Space Center.
Doors open at 6:50 AM with our program beginning at 7:00 AM. Guests will watch the official NASA livestream on a 40-foot tall screen inside the globe. NASA Solar System Ambassadors will be present to explain how the telescope will study dark energy, exoplanets, and infrared astrophysics. While the launch is scheduled for 7:26 AM, please note that the event will continue even if the launch is scrubbed for weather or technical reasons.
