May StoryWalks of Wake County Parks
Experience the joy of literacy and the great outdoors this May with the Wake County Parks StoryWalk series. We invite families and nature lovers alike to explore several park locations where children’s stories are displayed page by page along scenic walking trails. This engaging initiative combines the physical activity of a nature hike with the educational enrichment of reading, providing a unique way to connect with literature and the natural world simultaneously. Whether you are strolling through Beech Bluff, exploring Crowder, or visiting Harris Lake, there is a fresh narrative waiting to be discovered at every stop.
From May 1 through May 31, visitors can enjoy a variety of featured titles such as I Love Strawberries, Finding Wild, and Be Nice to Spiders. These walks are perfectly suited for readers of all ages and offer a wonderful opportunity for community members to immerse themselves in nature. We encourage you to visit our participating park locations during regular operating hours, from 8AM until sunset, to participate in this delightful seasonal program. Lace up your sneakers, grab your family, and head to your local Wake County park to begin your literary adventure today.
