Living Legends: Living History Event in Pittsboro
Experience history coming to life at the Chatham County Historical Association's Living Legends event on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Hosted at the historic Chatham County Courthouse in Pittsboro, this unique program features talented students from the Jordan Lake School of the Arts who have researched and prepared portrayals of significant local figures. Students will be stationed throughout the courthouse in period dress, delivering engaging short talks that highlight the individuals who shaped the heritage of Chatham County. This educational showcase is a fantastic opportunity for the community to celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary through the eyes of the next generation.
This event is entirely free and open to the public, offering a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. While you are in town, enjoy the additional festivities of Pittsboro First Sunday, which features local vendors and community activities throughout the downtown area. We invite you to bring your family and friends to support these dedicated students as they share their research and public speaking skills. Join us for an inspiring day of connection and historical discovery in the heart of Chatham County.
