Juneteenth Tours at Pope House Museum
Celebrate Juneteenth this June at the historic Dr. M. T. Pope House Museum located in the heart of Raleigh, North Carolina. We are proud to offer special educational tours from Saturday, June 13, through Sunday, June 21, 2026. These guided experiences provide a rare opportunity to explore the inspiring life of Dr. Manassa T. Pope and examine the resilience of free African Americans as they navigated the complexities of life in North Carolina. By focusing on the history of the free people of color connected to the Pope family, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the struggles and triumphs that shaped our local community.
These tours are entirely free to the public, making this an accessible way to honor the legacy of Juneteenth with friends and family. While donations are graciously accepted, they are never required. We invite you to join us for an enriching experience that highlights our shared heritage and the path toward freedom. Please visit the museum at 511 South Wilmington Street to participate in this meaningful commemoration. We look forward to welcoming you to the Pope House Museum for this special tribute.
