Free Guided Tours of the North Carolina State Capitol
Experience the rich history of North Carolina with a visit to the State Capitol building in Raleigh. This iconic Greek Revival structure, completed in 1840 and designated as a National Historic Landmark, offers guests an immersive look into the past of the state legislature. Explore the magnificent rotunda, historic senate and house chambers, and the elegant library during these informative guided sessions.
Guided tours are held every Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. No advanced reservations are required for these events, so guests are encouraged to simply arrive at the front entrance to join the group. For those preferring a flexible pace, self-guided tours are also available throughout the week during regular business hours.
This is an excellent opportunity for families, history enthusiasts, and visitors to learn about civic heritage in a welcoming environment. Whether you are a local resident or visiting from out of town, we invite you to discover the beauty and significance of this architectural treasure. Please contact the Capitol office or check their website for the most current scheduling information before your visit.
