Free Guided Tour of the North Carolina State Capitol
Experience the rich political history of North Carolina with a visit to the State Capitol building in Raleigh. This iconic Greek Revival structure, completed in 1840, serves as a National Historic Landmark and offers visitors a unique glimpse into the past. Guests are invited to explore the beautifully preserved rotunda, historic legislative chambers, and the Governor’s office area during their visit.
While self-guided tours are available throughout the week, we highly recommend joining one of the free guided tours offered every Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. These hour-long sessions provide deep insight into the architectural significance and legislative evolution of the site. No advance reservations are required, making this an ideal activity for families, history enthusiasts, or anyone looking for an engaging cultural outing.
Whether you are a local resident or a visitor to the area, we encourage you to step inside and walk the halls where history was made. For the latest schedule updates, please reach out via phone or email, or visit our social media page. We look forward to welcoming you to the Capitol soon.
