Free Guided Tour of the North Carolina State Capitol
Experience history firsthand with a visit to the North Carolina State Capitol, a stunning National Historic Landmark in the heart of Raleigh. Completed in 1840, this beautifully preserved Greek Revival structure offers visitors a unique glimpse into the state's civic past. Guests are invited to explore the rotunda, the elegant legislative chambers, and the historic library during their visit.
While self-guided tours are available throughout the week, we highly recommend joining our free expert-led guided tours held every Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. These engaging sessions last approximately one hour and provide fascinating insights into the building's architecture and the political heritage of North Carolina. No prior reservation is required for these weekend tours; simply arrive at the front entrance to join the group.
Whether you are a local resident or visiting from out of town, this is an excellent opportunity to discover one of the most significant landmarks in Raleigh. We look forward to welcoming you to the State Capitol for an informative and memorable afternoon of exploration.
