Free Guided Tour of North Carolina State Capitol
Experience the rich political history of North Carolina with a visit to the State Capitol building in Raleigh. This iconic Greek Revival structure, completed in 1840, serves as a National Historic Landmark and offers visitors a fascinating look into the past. During your visit, you can explore the historic rotunda, the elegant old senate and house chambers, and the Governor's office area, all while learning about the architectural significance of this grand civic site.
Guided tours are available every Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., with no prior reservation required for participation. Simply arrive at the front of the building to join a group and enjoy an immersive one-hour tour led by knowledgeable staff. If you prefer a more flexible schedule, the Capitol also welcomes visitors for self-guided tours Monday through Saturday during regular operating hours.
