Free Guided Tour of N.C. State Capitol
Step back in time with a visit to the historic North Carolina State Capitol in Raleigh. This stunning National Historic Landmark, completed in 1840, serves as a magnificent example of Greek Revival architecture. Guests are invited to explore this iconic civic building through self-guided tours during regular operating hours or by joining one of our expert-led guided tours available every Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. These engaging guided sessions provide a deep dive into the history of the rotunda, the elegant old senate and house chambers, and the historic library.
Whether you are a local resident or visiting from out of town, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the rich political heritage of North Carolina at no cost. The building is conveniently located in the heart of downtown, just a short walk from other major attractions. No advance reservations are required for the guided tours; simply arrive at the front entrance to join the group.
