Free Community Day at the Pauli Murray Center
Join the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for an engaging community day. Located at the historic childhood home of Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray in Durham, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore the life and legacy of an extraordinary twentieth-century civil rights activist, legal scholar, and educator. Discover the rich history of a multiracial Black and LGBTQ icon who paved the way for social justice. Guests are invited to wander through both indoor and outdoor exhibits that highlight the powerful themes of identity, activism, and love. Knowledgeable staff and dedicated volunteers will be available throughout the day to provide context and answer your questions about the center and its mission. This inclusive event is proudly sponsored by Durham LibraryFest and welcomes all members of the community to participate at no cost. We encourage you to bring your friends and family for a day of discovery and reflection. Visit the center to learn more about our commitment to justice.
