Cutting Boards for Beginners

This two session course teaches woodworking fundamentals by guiding you through the creation of a custom, functional cutting board. You will apply essential milling and cutting techniques to build a unique kitchen piece based on your own design while gaining hands-on experience with core shop machinery.

On the first day, you will process raw lumber, cut materials to size, and glue your project components together. The second day focuses on refinement, where you will use shaping and profiling tools to personalize your board and achieve a professional finished look. This process builds practical skills that translate directly to more complex furniture or box-making projects.

This workshop is perfect for woodworkers looking to bridge the gap between introductory training and advanced craftsmanship. To enroll, you must have completed a Woodshop Introduction course or possess strong familiarity with the jointer, planer, and table saw. We provide a supportive environment for you to master these tools safely. Sign up now to advance your technical woodworking abilities and leave with a high-quality, custom-made item for your kitchen.
