City Nature Challenge at the JC Raulston Arboretum
Are you passionate about the environment and eager to contribute to genuine scientific research? We invite you to join the JC Raulston Arboretum for the upcoming City Nature Challenge. This exciting four day event invites participants to explore our lush gardens while documenting local biodiversity through the power of community science. From Friday through Monday, you are encouraged to photograph wild plants, animals, and fungi you encounter throughout the grounds. All observations should be uploaded to the iNaturalist platform to ensure your findings are officially recorded and counted toward this global initiative.
To ensure your success, we are providing dedicated on site support and specialized observation stations. Knowledgeable volunteers will be available each morning to assist with using the mobile application and borrowing observation tools to enhance your experience. Whether you are interested in tracking pond life, insect pollinators, or avian activity, these stations offer a fantastic way to learn more about our local ecosystem. We encourage all nature enthusiasts to participate in this meaningful project. Register your attendance today and help us map the biodiversity of our city through your valuable observations.
