Chatham County Historical Association Programs
Join the Chatham County Historical Association for a series of engaging and educational programs designed to bring local history to life. On May 3, 2026, experience the Living Legends event at the Historic Chatham County Courthouse. Students from the Jordan Lake School of the Arts will present a captivating living history exhibition in honor of the country's 250th anniversary. Attendees are invited to walk through the courthouse, meeting various historical figures brought to life by students in period attire, providing a unique perspective on the rich heritage of our region.
Following this event, the Siler City History Club invites community members to an informal meeting on May 7, 2026, at the First Baptist Church. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to learn, share stories, and contribute to the ongoing efforts to preserve the colorful history of Siler City. Both events are entirely free to the public and offer a perfect way to connect with the community. We encourage everyone to bring a friend and participate in these informative and spirited celebrations of our local roots. Mark your calendars and come support our passionate history enthusiasts.
