Carnivorous Plants: Grow Your Own Flytrap
This workshop provides a hands on introduction to growing native North Carolina carnivorous plants. Participants will learn the specific biology and care requirements necessary to successfully cultivate a Venus Flytrap in a home environment. The goal of this session is to demystify these unique botanical specimens through direct instruction and guided potting practice.
During this session, attendees will explore the specialized adaptations that allow carnivorous plants to thrive in nutrient poor soil. You will receive professional guidance on light, water, and soil requirements to ensure long term health for your plants. Each participant will pot one Venus Flytrap and one additional species of carnivorous plant to take home. All necessary materials, including containers, soil mixes, and the plants themselves, are provided as part of the workshop experience.
This event is designed for beginners and enthusiasts interested in plant biology. The atmosphere is collaborative and educational, focusing on clear communication and skill building. Whether you are curious about unusual flora or looking to start a new hobby, this workshop offers practical knowledge in a supportive setting. Space is limited, so please register in advance to secure your spot.
