Biodiversity After Dark
Biodiversity After Dark is an immersive nocturnal wildlife exploration at Prairie Ridge. This evening program invites nature enthusiasts to discover the diverse species that emerge only after the sun sets. The event provides a unique opportunity to observe local ecosystems in a guided, hands-on environment.
Participants will engage with several interactive stations designed to highlight nocturnal activity. We will set up light stations specifically to attract moths and various insects. The experience includes a guided walk to the pond to listen for frog calls and a dedicated session to track owl vocalizations. A brief opening introduction will cover key facts about nocturnal animals before the group ventures out to explore the field.
This event is perfect for families, amateur naturalists, and curious outdoor lovers. The atmosphere is educational and relaxed, allowing you to participate at your own pace. The program begins at 8:30 pm, with stations remaining active until 11:30 pm. Please bring a flashlight and a smartphone or camera to document your findings. Join us for a memorable night of discovery in the great outdoors.
