April StoryWalks of Wake County Parks
Experience the joy of literacy and the great outdoors this April with the StoryWalks program across Wake County Parks. This initiative invites families and children to read engaging stories while exploring beautiful park trails. It is a wonderful way to combine physical activity with educational enrichment, fostering a love for nature and literature simultaneously. Each site features a unique children book displayed along the path, allowing visitors to walk from page to page in a scenic setting.
Throughout the month, various parks will showcase different titles, including Mae Among the Stars at the American Tobacco Trail, A Day With No Words at Beech Bluff, and Compost Stew at Crowder. Additional installations are available at Oak View, Yates Mill, Lake Crabtree, and Robertson Millpond, offering diverse stories for every reader. Whether you are a local resident or visiting the area, these walks provide a perfect opportunity for meaningful family time.
We encourage you to grab your walking shoes, pack some water, and visit one of these participating parks this April to enjoy these literary adventures firsthand.
