Apex MLK Day Celebration 2026 A Weekend of Service and Remembrance
Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with the Town of Apex from January 16-19, 2026! This series of free, all-ages events honors Dr. King's vision through community engagement and service. Discover meaningful ways to contribute and commemorate his enduring impact.
Kick off the celebration on Friday, January 16th, at 6:30 p.m. with the Black Authors Exhibit at the Apex Senior Center. Meet talented authors, hear about their latest works, and celebrate the winners of the K-12 Creative Contest! Enjoy light refreshments while connecting with fellow community members. On Sunday, January 18th, at 11 a.m., immerse yourself in the MLK Day Worship Service at Apex First Baptist Church, featuring a special community choir performance.
Join us for the MLK Day National Day of Service on Monday, January 19th, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the John M. Brown Community Center! Partner with Brown Big Ministries to pack bagged lunches and write supportive letters. Throughout December and up to January 19th, participate in the Dorcas Ministries Donation Drive by dropping off needed items at designated locations. Don't miss this opportunity to honor Dr. King's legacy through action!
