American Tobacco Trail Star Party
Experience the magic of the cosmos at the American Tobacco Trail Star Party, a featured event of the North Carolina Science Festival. This year, we celebrate a Mission to the Moon theme with an evening full of discovery and wonder. Families and astronomy enthusiasts alike are invited to participate in engaging hands on activities including solar system walks, creative crafts, and interactive games starting at 6 pm. As dusk settles, gather around the campfire for enchanting constellation storytelling before transitioning to guided night sky observations.
Our expert partners from the Raleigh Astronomy Club and local high school science societies will provide telescopes and binoculars to help you explore the Moon, Venus, and distant star clusters. This free, community driven event encourages all ages to bring a blanket, lawn chair, and a picnic dinner to enjoy under the stars. Refreshments will be available for purchase to keep you cozy during our celestial tour. We invite you to join us for this unique educational celebration of our universe. Please mark your calendars for this unforgettable evening of exploration and join us rain or shine on our designated backup date.
